Don’t you love to hear the answers children give when grown ups ask “what do you want to be when you grow up”?
The funny thing is, this question allows children to create a vision of who they want to be.
The dream of being a doctor, lawyer or teacher is often turned into reality by the seed that is planted from this question.
The problem as adults is that we forget who we wanted to be or our dreams are buried under life stuff and circumstances.
I’m a firm believer that vision and passion are what successful businesses are made of. So let me ask you something…
Are you who you dreamed of becoming?
I’ll bet you have a dream that’s been brewing since you were a child or young adult. So my question is, what’s stopping you from turning your dream into a lucrative business?
Did someone tell you that you weren’t good enough?
Do you think you’re not smart enough?
Are you afraid it will be too hard to obtain?
Are you juggling too much right now and don’t think you’ll have the time?
If you answered yes to any of the above, I have an answer for every doubtful question you may have.
I’ve been an online business owner for ten+ years and my dream to run a profitable business is a reality but it wouldn’t be there without squashing the doubt!
Here are the things female entrepreneurs tell themselves while building their empire:
1. I’m not good enough.
Let me start by saying “you is smart, you is kind, you is important”. Remember that line from the movie “The Help”? That is one of my favorite movies by the way.
Anyway, that line is so powerful. No matter what you think your limitations are you can succeed.
Everyone of us is given a talent or circumstance that can help another person. Someone out in the world needs what you have so don’t believe anything other than that.
2. I’m not smart enough.
You may not have a perfect IQ but if you can read this post you can get paid to live your dream. Now go read #1 again.
3. It will be too hard to obtain.
Stop being lazy and get to it. Nothing in life that is worth having, comes without some blood, sweat and tears. If you start today you’ll be one step closer to living your dream. So take the first or next step and begin working on affirmations and mindset so when negative thoughts creep up you can squash them.

4. I have too much on my plate, I don’t have the time.
Okay, very few people have what I have on my plate so let me share. If you can top this, then you can use this excuse.
I am a homeschool mom of six, and a business owner so as you can imagine life for me can be crazy on a daily. My days no matter how planned out they may be can and do take unexpected turns.
With that said even my scheduled days don’t leave much room for “do nothing” time. We have school in the morning, I work in the afternoon and in between there are calls, email checks, etc.
Keep in mind that any one of my circumstances could lead down another rabbit trail. For instance, someone could bump their head (trip to the ER), two of the kids may be in a tournaments during the same week, the airbag light might come on for no reason (this happened last week, and required a three hour wait and unexpected trip to dealer) – do I need to go on?
Remember this…
The thing is you have to believe you can do it and do just that…do it. Stop believing the lie someone told you, stop making excuses.
It’s time to grow up
Ask yourself “what can I do today to move toward monetizing my dream”?
Then put one foot in front of the other and start.
