3 TOOLS TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

3 TOOLS TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

We all need a few more hours added to the day, right?  I don’t know about you but as an entrepreneur, wife and homeschool mom of six I am always looking for an extra hour or two.

So over the years I’ve come up with a system to help me get it all done. Part of that system includes three of my favorite tools to help keep me focused and save me time.

Pomodoro Timer

This timer helps me get so much done!

Here’s how it works: you set the timer and work in increments of 25 focused minutes at a time. When the timer goes off you get up from your desk for five minutes and take a break, then return for another 25 minutes.

This timer helps me get so much done because I’m focused only on the task at hand for a full 25 minutes.

What they say: The Pomodoro Technique can help you push through distractions, hyper-focus, and get things done in short powerful bursts, while taking frequent breaks to come up for air and relax.

The original Pomodoro timer costs $1.99 on iTunes but there are other free apps that do the same thing.

Trello

I didn’t think I would like this tool because I’m a paper and pen kinda girl but the truth is I love it!

Trello is great for organizing my thoughts and collaborating ideas in a more efficient way than I can do on paper and it can sync across all of your devices which is huge for me.

What they say: Trello is the free, flexible, and visual way to organize anything with anyone.

Drop the lengthy email threads, out-of-date spreadsheets, no-longer-so-sticky notes, and clunky software for managing your projects. Trello lets you see everything about your project in a single glance.

Coffitivity

I can’t say enough about this app, it has changed the way I work.  It allows you to listen to the low murmur from a cafe to boost creativity.  I am amazed at how it helps me focus during my blocks of designated work time.  Before I know it I’ve completed my task.

What they say: Coffitivity recreates the ambient sounds of a cafe to boost your creativity and help you work better.

Our coffee shop sounds are supported by science and backed by a community of creative people using the app every day. Coffitivity is the perfect addition to your workday arsenal!

The key is to set aside time to work exclusively on a task.  Trello is great to use to plan the tasks you need to plan out the tasks you need to complete.

Once you know what you plan on doing for the day, turn on Coffitivity and click on your Pomodoro timer.  You will be surprised how much you get done.

I use these tools just about everyday in my business and I know they are collectively responsible for helping me get more done.
